Harrow

Living in Harrow

Located in the extreme north-western corner of London between Hillingdon, Brent, and Barnet, embraces its own peaceful way of life, punctuated by quick trips to one of its many supermarkets and grocers, afternoons spent at one of its two shopping centres (St. Ann’s and St. George’s), and leisurely strolls through one of its many parks and open spaces. It’s easy to see why families and a sizable retiree population looking for a new home are drawn to the area.

Harrow’s transportation options are among its most appealing selling points. The Metropolitan Line takes 30 minutes to get from Harrow-on-the-Hill to Baker Street and the City. North Harrow, West Harrow, and Rayners Lane are also Met Line stations in zone five. South Harrow and Sudbury Hill are Piccadilly Line stations, while Ketone and South Kenton are Bakerloo Line stations in zone four, with trains to the West End.

It has a self-sufficient economy, with over 12,900 businesses registered as active in 2013, and the third-largest population of millionaires in London, making it a popular choice for commuters who want to take advantage of the short ride down into the West End. Development is expected to continue in the near future, with new residences being built in Harrow’s town centre and a proactive local council working to constantly improve the region. Harrow is a borough with a sizable Indian and Sri Lankan population, as well as one of the highest levels of cultural diversity in the UK.
